[Drill core]
Drill Core & Tour Participant Presentation in the Evening:   In the afternoon, following the last of the technical lectures, the group was taken to the Far South-east Gold Resources core facility where a number of drill holes were laid out for inspection, demonstrating the styles of mineralisation and alteration in the main Far South-east porphyry copper-gold deposit that underlies the Lepanto high sulphidation epithermal deposit.   This included some truly exceptional core that topped off a very rewarding visit.   In the main image, Guillaume Lesage (left), Poject Geologist, Far South-east Gold Resources, discusses aspects of the core that the group had been studying.   At the end of the day, when the group had learned as much as they could from the core, they were returned to the Lepanto mine guest house, with all of the Gold Fields/Far South-east geologist, where Russell Dow of Harmony Gold gave a presentation, as selected by Gold Fields, on the Wafi-Golpu gold and copper-gold deposits in PNG (bottom right image).   After this talk and ensuing questions, all adjourned to the patio for a barbeque dinner, drinks and informal discussion with our host's geological staff.
