[Chatree Core]
Chatree Drill Core:   After lunch at the Chatree mine, the group were transferred to the Issara Mining exploration base several kilometres distant, where a selection of representative, well labelled drill holes through the deposit had been laid out, demonstrating the host rocks, structure, mineralisation and alteration.   Each was accompanied by drill logs, assay sheets, geological plans and sections providing all of the information we could want to gain an appreciation of the deposit - a perfect display.   The group spent several hours studying the core and in discussion with the Issara Mining staff, Weerasak Lunwongsa and "Nui" Saranya Nuanla-ong, and Worawong Sirisookprasert of Akara Mining, who eagerly explained what we were looking at and what it meant.   The images above show the group studying and discussing the drill core, while the lower left image is of a high grade mineralised vein.   At the end of the day we were taken to the Golf Club for dinner with the geological staff, and then back to Taphan Hin to overnight.   Photographs by Mike Porter.
