[Chatree pit]
Chatree Open Pit:   On the morning of the second day of the technical visit to the Chatree operation, the group was again transferred to the main mine offices to be fitted out with PPE, before being taken into the pits.   The pit visits were led by Suphanit Suphananthi, Geology Manager, and Worawong Sirisookprasert (far left in upper left image), Geology Superintendent, both of Akara Mining, supported by Weerasak Lunwongsa and "Nui" Saranya Nuanla-ong of Issara Mining.   The lower left and far right images illustrate the style, density and thickness of veining exploited at Chatree.   When the pit visit had ended in the late morning, the group returned to the mine office for a discussion and interchange of experience on exploration for low sulphidation epithermal gold with the Issara and Akara geological staff, as requested by our hosts.   After a late lunch, the group departed by road to drive back to Bangkok, arriving by late afternoon.   The return to Bangkok, signified the end of the Thailand leg of the tour and one participant ended her tour at that stage.   All of the other members of the group spent the night in Bangkok, to depart next morning for Singapore, with a connection to Jakarta, arriving in the late afternoon, where two new members were waiting to join, followed by two more next morning.
