[Superpit]
In the KCGM Superpit at Kalgoorlie - The group awoke early on the morning of Thursday 7 November to have breakfast and take the hotel shuttle bus to the Domestic Terminal at Perth Airport where they checked in for the 06:45 am flight to Kalgoorlie, scheduled to arrive at its destination by 07:50 am. They met another four new starters at Perth Airport before departure, and a further three on arrival at Kalgoorlie Airport. The tour charter bus was waiting at the terminal for their arrival to take them direct to the KCGM mine. There they were taken to a function room for a series of expert briefings on the geology, structure and mineralisation of the Golden Mile, covering both the Superpit at Fimiston and the Mount Charlotte underground operation. Following these presentations they were taken into the Superpit to have the main structures and lithologies pointed out, before returning to the offices for lunch.     Images by Mike Porter.
