At the Lepanto Complex mines

At the Lepanto mine complex, Mankayan, northern Luzon, Philippines.
Top left - early morning arrival at Mankayan by air charter from Manila.   Top right - exposures in old pits of the Lepanto high sulphidation enargite-luzonite-gold mineralisation with associated hypogene alunite, dickite, kaolinite and pyrite alteration. This represents a lithocap to the Far Southeast porphyry deposit below.   Bottom left - travelling underground in the hot humid Victoria Mine at Lepanto.   Bottom right - underground in a stope in the altered dacite porphyry and pyroclastic host to intermediate sulphidation quartz-gold-base metal mineralisation at the Victoria mine.
