Model Room and drill core at Mindola, Zambia - After returning to the surface and changing, the group were next transferred to the Nkana-Mindola Model Shop where they had lunch while studying and discussing the series of large scale models of the entire Mindola-Nkana-Southern Orebody-Western Limb deposits with Mopani Copper Mines staff and among themselves. After lunch, they were transferred back to the Mindola MV Shaft area to study and discuss core from a series of selected drill holes through the orebodies and enclosing stratigraphy. Late in the afternoon, the visit had to be terminated so the group could get to Ndola, the next destination before dark. They thanked Mopani for an excellent day and departed. This was the last of the Zambian Copperbelt visits on the tour. Some participants left the group in Kitwe (the town servicing the Nkana complex mines), while the others leaving at the end of this segment, continued on to Ndola to spend the night at the Mukuba Hotel, with the 'ongoing' group before dispersing next morning.
