Hidden Valley briefing in Wau

Hidden Valley and Wafi-Golpu briefing.   David Osikore (second from right), Manager Exploration of Morobe Consolidated Goldfields (Harmony) gave a comprehensive, pertinent and very professional briefing outlining the setting of their Hidden Valley and Wafi gold deposits south of Lae in Papua New Guinea and the geology, alteration, structure and mineralisation of the low sulphidation Hidden Valley deposit.   The presentation was supported by plans, sections, data images and samples of drill core and representative rock specimens and was conducted in Wau.

The group had arrived at the Lae Nadzab airport by air charter from Lihir on the previous evening and transferred the 40 km to their hotel in Lae by secure bus to overnight. Early that morning they had departed by charter helicopter from the helipad in Lae to fly west to Wau in the Bulolo Valley where they were given this detailed presentation. Following the presentation they were to have flown to the Hidden Valley prospect before going on to Wafi-Golpu. However, weather conditions and limits on the helicopter operation under the prevailing conditions made it inadvisable to proceed to the higher 2500 m elevation of Hidden Valley, and this more detailed office presentation and drill core study was undertaken instead. From Wau, the group headed direct to Wafi Golpu, as planned for the afternoon.
