Adelaide Workshop

The Olympic Dam mine, plant and smelter - The giant Olympic Dam operation which mines and treats around 10 Mt of ore per annum from underground is dwarfed by the vast, flat, dune covered outback of northern South Australia.

This photo was taken on approach to Olympic Dam airport after an early morning flight out of Adelaide over 500 km to the SSE.   Following a safety induction and detailed geological briefing, the group was given an underground visit by mine geologists that took up the rest of the morning.
