Batu Hijau.   After the safety induction upon arrival on Sumbawa, the group was given a detailed briefing of the setting, geology, alteration and mineralisation associated with the Batu Hijau deposit and surrounding district by mine geologist Sam Kepli and Superintendent Geology, Johan Arif.   After a subsequent period of questions and discussion the group had lunch before being taken to the open pit where they were given a geological overview and then were able to study the altered rocks on the periphery of the deposit and high grade ore from the pit through the remainder of the afternoon.
