Drill core at Batu Hijau. The group was transferred to to the Batu Hijau core storage facility after an early breakfast on the morning of Tuesday 19th of October. Core from a selection of representative drill holes through the ore deposit and adjacent host rocks illustrated the main lithologies and the different ore and alteration zones. The session was led by Sam Kepli (left in top-left image), with input from Chief Mine Geologist Dudy Setyandhaka. In mid-afternoon, the group departed for the Benete wharf to take the ferry back to Kayangan on Lombok, then the road trip across the island to Mataram airport to connect with a flight to Denpasar on Bali.
