KCGM drill core - After lunch the group were taken to the KCGM core facility to study a series of selected drill holes through the Golden Mile lode system. The images above show the group studying core, and discussing and listening intently to explanations from experienced KCGM geologists and expert consultants. This lasted until the late afternoon when they returned to the main office to thank Matt Baggott, KCGM staff and consultants for a thoughtful, well planned and very professionally rewarding day. They then took the waiting charter Goldrush Tours bus into town before proceeding to check into the tour hotel near the centre of Kalgoorlie.     Images by Mike Porter.
