At Telfer - After both aircraft had arrived, the group were put through a safety induction before being taken to the Geology office for a comprehensive briefing on the setting, geology, structure, mineralisation and alteration of the Telfer deposit (lower left). They then went to the pit where they had an overview looking at the main structural and geological features from several vantage points (upper left), and then had the opportunity to study the lithologies and mineralisation. This was followed by lunch at the office and a session studying drill core through the deposit (right). They then returned to the airport, by which time it was late afternoon. The visit had been very informative and professionally rewarding and the group were grateful for the effort and cooperation Newcrest Mining had committed to make the visit the success it was.
