[Oyu Tolgoi Field]
In the field at Oyu Tolgoi - When the group had seen sufficient of the drill core and enjoyed a barbeque at the Exploration camp, they were taken into the field to inspect the full suite of country- and host-rocks and expression of mineralisation at the surface.   While an exploration and development shaft has been sunk into the orebody, all of the faces have been shotcreted with no geology visible, and consequntly no underground tour was included.   Background - in the field inspecting country rocks away from ore.   Lower - left - inspecting the scattered, restricted exposures of altered host rocks with weak green copper-staining scattered over a strike length of several hundred metres, that are the only surface indication of the 3.7 Gt high grade orebody below - several small historic diggings into this mineralisation are found within the same zone.   Centre - part of the 'ger' camp where the group spent the night. Right - headframe of the No. 1 shaft.
