[Tampakan drill core]
Tampakan drill core.   When the Tampakan field visit was complete, the group had lunch at the base camp before proceeding to the Liberty core facility.   After being conducted through the extensive, well guarded and immaculately maintained facility, the group was given an introduction to the core to be studied and then each was presented with a suite of detailed drill logs and related data.   They were then handed over to Saggitarius geologists to guide them through the core that was laid out, a series of holes representing the different styles and zones of mineralisation and alteration at Tampakan.   In the late afternoon, the group returned to General Santos City where Mike Humphries of Harmony Gold gave a presentation for the benefit of the Saggitarius geologists on his company's Wafi-Golpu deposit in PNG. This session was also designed to allow the host geologists to discuss and question the group on their insights of Tampakan   Top-left - Richelle Pascual of Saggitarius explains what is to be seen in one of the drill holes; Lower-left - an animated discussion on what the juxtaposition of certain styles of mineralisation and alteration implies; Upper-right - the group continues to study the core with interest; Lower right - Chief Geologist, William Domasig (left) discusses features of the mineralisation with Fernando Moya of Vale Philippines and Simon Marshall of Newmont Asia Pacific;   Top-centre - presentation in General Santos City.
