At the Rosia Montana intermediate sulphidation epithermal gold project, Romania. After travelling from Bor in Serbia to Sofia in Bulgaria and on to Bucharest in Romania on Sunday 28 September, the group continued on to Rosia Montana, via Cluj in north-western Romania early the next morning. There, after a series of comprehensive briefings on the project, and on its setting, geology and mineralisation, the group was taken to the old open pits centred on the Cetate and Carnic deposits respectively. They were given an overview of the district geology from the pit margin (right), before having the opportunity to study the deposit geology, extensive host breccias, ore and alteration styles with Adrian Minut (on the left in left image), Manager Exploration of Rosia Montana Gold Corporation.
