The Bleiberg-Kreuth deposit in southern Austria contained some 33 Mt @ 10% Pb+Zn, based on production and reserve figures.

It is a carbonate hosted deposit within six mineralised carbonates in a 350 m thick interval of the Middle Triassic Drau Limestone, which is in turn part of a 3000 m Triassic sequence of mainly carbonates that overlie a Permian sedimentary basement.

Much of the ore zone is highly fractured with a large number of steep, fault controlled 'lodes' and pipes that may be 400 to 800 m in strike length and are spread over a wide area.   Irrespective of which band mineralisation lies within it can been grouped into four styles, as follows:  1). stratabound ore,  2). ore in cross-cutting structures which link stratabound accumulations,  3). mechanically redeposited ores (ore sands and breccias),  4). ores that form large stock shaped bodies due to diagenetic processes.
