The Kamikita cluster of kuroko type Cu-Zn-pyrite orebodies are hosted by middle Miocene volcanics in Aomori Prefecture, northern Honshu, Japan.

This part of Honshu is the northern part of the Tohoku Green Tuff Region with a similar Miocene geological history to the Hokuroko Basin 50 km to the south that hosts the largest of the kuroko type deposits.   For background information on the geology and setting of the Hokuroko Basin see the Hokuroko Basin - Kuroko Deposits record.

A cluster of at least five ore deposits (each made up of a series of lenses) are hosted by middle Miocene rhyolites and rhyolitic tuff breccias of the Okunosawa formation which correlates with the regional Nishikurasawa Stage, the same stage as the hosts to the deposits of the Hokuroko Basin ores.

Mineralisation is present in a variety of styles, including from lower to higher levels in the system of:  1). Stockwork pyrite,  2). Massive pyrite,  3). Stockwork sphalerite (occurring above or overprinting bedded pyritic ore and always in association with overlying bedded sphalerite rich ore),  4). Bedded, compact, chalcopyrite rich ore,  5). Bedded, compact, sphalerite rich ore,  6). Bedded fragmental ore.

The individual orebodies can be summarised as follows:
* Tteishi - a rhyolite hosted massive sulphide pyritic ore lens of 80x60x80 m with silicification and sericitisation, and a rhyolite hosted massive to layered sulphide Cu-Zn-pyrite lens 120x30x165 m with sericitic alteration, for approximately 1.1 to 1.2 Mt of ore.
* Honko - a rhyolite hosted cylindrical pyritic ore deposit of 40x30x230 m with pyrophyllite and argillitic alteration for approximately 0.6 to 0.7 Mt of ore.
* Kaminosawa - three layered and massive orebodies (250x60x5 m, 40x25x40 m, 500x400x3 m) hosted by rhyolites and tuff breccias with Cu-Zn-pyrite ore and hydromica alteration - for 1.5 to 1.7 Mt of ore.
* Okunosawa - three tuff breccia orebodies - a 170x140x30 m massive sulphide pyritic orebody, a 150x30x40 m massive sulphide Cu orebody and a 40x25x70 m cylindrical Cu-pyrite orebody, for a total of 1.1 to 1.2 Mt of ore.
* Donosawa - a rhyolite hosted layered (300x150x2 m) and massive (50x30x5 m) Cu-Zn-pyrite sulphide ore deposit with sericitic alteration.
